The influence of image on a product in the selling process has been examined for a long period. But, the recognition about the role of image in the decision process of tourism and how to measure the image of a tourism destination, still caught a little portion of research, especially in Indonesia. This article discussed the concept of image in an area which acts as a destination of tourism, and the method to measure it. In this article examined two main components in measuring the destination of tourism, which is attribute-based and holistic-based.
