Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between organizational commitment and employee engagement toward turnover intentions among employees at Hermina Hospital Malang. The research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method using questionnaires distributed to 76 nursing staff. The instruments used consisted of the Organizational Commitment Scale, Employee Engagement Scale, and Turnover Intentions Scale. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis with SPSS 21.0. The results showed a negative and significant relationship between organizational commitment and turnover intentions (r = -0.067), as well as a negative and significant relationship between employee engagement and turnover intentions (r = -0.325). The simultaneous test also revealed that both independent variables together have a negative and significant relationship with turnover intentions. These findings indicate that the higher the level of organizational commitment and employee engagement, the lower the employees’ intention to leave the organization. The study concludes that strengthening employees’ organizational commitment and engagement can effectively reduce turnover intentions. It is recommended that hospital management enhance organizational culture, provide support for employee well-being, and create a positive work environment to improve employee loyalty and engagement within the organization.
